Most helicopters on this map are painted by GTLA AirWatch. The paint, markings, materials and rotor animation are ours. The underlying 3D shape very often is not — it starts as a model somebody else built and shared, and this page says who they are.

Built here, start to finish

A few aircraft borrow nothing. The three Bell 505s — LAFD, Chino Police and one private ship — were modelled from scratch by GTLA AirWatch off reference photographs, with no third-party base mesh underneath. So were the Enstrom F-28A (N90775) and the Niki Kallithea gyroplane (N202BG). N675TH, the Timberline Kaman K-MAX, is also an original GTLA reconstruction, based on Kaman dimensions and a March 2025 photograph. Small fittings and unseen markings are interpreted; aircraft and operator marks remain with their owners.

Non-commercial

The MD500 above is under CC BY-NC 4.0, which permits non-commercial use. GTLA AirWatch is free to use, carries no advertising and sells nothing, which is why those six aircraft are here. If that ever changes, they come down.

Share-alike

The Bell 206 above is under CC BY-SA 3.0, which asks something the other licences here do not: work built on it should be shared on the same terms. Our Bell 206 liveries are therefore offered under CC BY-SA 3.0 as well — the paint and animation are ours, but they travel under the licence the shape came with. If you want one of those fourteen files for something, ask and we’ll send it.

Additional aircraft adaptations — October 2026

The Bell 430 liveries N430ST and N810SP use the FGUK Bell 430 by StuartC, Maik Justus, Garry Brown and FGUK contributors. N810SP depicts its historical 2008 Louisiana State Police scheme, not a claim of current police ownership. N760GP uses the S-76C foundation credited below, adapted to an approximate S-76B with the documented historical same-airframe N661AT paint. The H225 liveries N554AC and N561AC are adaptations of HB-GRAL and FlightGear contributors’ AS332, with five main blades and four tail blades; cabin, nose, panels and equipment remain approximations. N561AC depicts photographed 2022 paint. These five adaptations are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty.

UH-72A 19-72456 uses CloudHubOmniTeam’s CC BY 4.0 EC145 foundation, credited above, with GTLA’s C-2 tail reconstruction, closed doors, paint and rotor animation. The photographed military year prefix and independently unconfirmed manufacturer serial remain documented limitations. N280ER is GTLA’s original photo-guided Enstrom 280FX geometry and paint. N5125, N818HA and N996RS use the existing approved AS350 family geometry; fine equipment and unseen-side paint are interpreted. N818HA’s paint continuity from former registration N353SC is inferred. None of these models establishes current aircraft activity or endorsement.

Sikorsky S-76 — GPL v2

Our eight S-76 liveries (N76FL, N323CH, N76EX, N76CG, N141MH, N152AE, N760GP and N121NC) use the FlightGear UK S-76C++ by Melchior Franz, Maik Justus, Horacio Contreras and the FlightGear / FGUK contributors. GTLA adapted the geometry, paint and animation. The source and our adaptations are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty. You may redistribute and modify them under that license.

V-22 Osprey — GPL v2

Our seven Osprey liveries (Bureau Numbers 169444, 168695, 168627, 168613, 168710, 168338 and 168711) use the FlightGear V-22 by Emmanuel Baranger, Oliver Thurau, Detlef Faber, Maik Justus and onox. GTLA adapted the geometry, weathered paint and rotor animation. The source and our adaptations are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty. Gazelle SA341 / SA342 — GPL v2

N888GZ, N342MR and the unmarked shared Gazelle used for N868GZ derive from the FlightGear Sud-Aviation-SA342 by Emmanuel BARANGER / helijah and its credited contributors. GTLA adapted the paint, geometry and animation. The source and these adaptations are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty.

Eurocopter EC130 B4 — GPL v2 or later

The four Maverick EC130 B4 liveries (N850MH, N851MH, N852MH and N853MH) derive from the FGUK EC130 by Heiko Schulz, Michael Habarta and the FGUK contributors. GTLA adapted the paint, geometry and animation. The source and these adaptations are distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or (at your option) any later version, without warranty. You may redistribute and modify them under that license.

Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion — GPL v2

Our two Marine Corps CH-53E liveries (Bureau Numbers 162479 and 164780) use the FlightGear CH-53E by Josh Babcock, Pierre Duval, Richard Harrison, StuartC (FGUK) and the FlightGear contributors. Aérospatiale AS332L1 Super Puma — GPL v2

Our livery for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Air Rescue 5 (N951LB) uses the FlightGear AS332 by HB-GRAL, with Melchior Franz, Maik Justus and the FlightGear contributors. Sikorsky S-61N (from the FGUK Westland Sea King) — GPL v2

Our livery for Coulson’s S-61N (N261CG) is built on the FGUK Westland Sea King by Simon Lister, MVDP, Oliver Thurau, Stuart C and Garry Brown of FGUK, with the FlightGear contributors. GTLA reshaped its geometry into the civil S-61N and adapted the paint and rotor animation. The source and our adaptations are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty. Sikorsky S-58ET — GPL v2

Our S-58ET livery (N58AH) uses the FlightGear Sikorsky S-58 by Emmanuel Baranger, Reagan Thomas, Maik Justus, Slowmans and the FlightGear contributors. AgustaWestland A109E and A119 — GPL v3

Our A109E livery (N435AK) and A119 livery (N119WG) use the FlightGear Brasil AW109 — KAITO's original model, reworked and released by Renan (RenanMsV) of FlightGear Brasil. GTLA reshaped it into each variant and adapted the paint and rotor animation. The source and our adaptations are distributed under GPL v3, without warranty. Bell 230 (from the FGUK Bell 430) — GPL v2

Our livery for a privately owned Bell 230 (N230H) is built on the FGUK Bell 430 by StuartC, Maik Justus (flight model) and Garry Brown (paint), with the other FGUK contributors. GTLA shortened its cabin by 46 cm (18 inches) to the Bell 230’s length, closed over the extra cabin window the 430 has, and gave it a new two-blade rotor, the paint and the rotor animation. BK117 B-2 fleet — GPL v2

Five BK117 B-2 liveries (N64UP, N945ME, N817DD, N74GH, N1174U) derive from FGUK BK117 B2 V1.46 by Heiko Schulz, Melchior Franz, Maik Justus, StuartC and FlightGear/FGUK contributors. GTLA adapted paint, geometry, rotors and lights. Historical photographed paint is documented in the source; current paint is not claimed verified. Sikorsky CH-54B N721HT — GPL v2

N721HT is a photo-guided adaptation of FlightGear AirCrane by Emmanuel Baranger, Heiko Schulz and Wayne Bragg. GTLA created the HTS paint, tank, stowed fill hose, rotor animation and tier exports. The source and modifications are distributed under GNU GPL version 2, without warranty. You may redistribute and modify them under that licence.

Sikorsky S-64F N600HX — GPL v2

N600HX Goliath is adapted from the FlightGear AirCrane by Emmanuel Baranger, Heiko Schulz and Wayne Bragg. GTLA selected the S-64F geometry, animated the rotors, and created the livery and stowed fill hose. The source and modifications are distributed under GNU GPL version 2, without warranty. October livery additions

N501RM uses the Simhopp MD500 mesh with separate source-owner permission confirmed for GTLA. N407TJ uses the Bell 407 mesh credited to NoManland, FSX and AuthorSaulAlan, with separately confirmed permission. N533LC, N407TJ, N808LB and N298DC use approved family-reference paint, rather than verified current-aircraft liveries. Existing EC135 and Robinson source credits above apply.

Bell 427 N427BW

Adapted from the Bell 427 V2 by Paul Bradshaw, with V2 upgrades by Sergio Kauffman Acosta and the credited source contributors. Original geometry and artwork remain theirs. GTLA created the N427BW paint adaptation and rotor and strobe animation. The site owner confirmed source-owner permission for publication on GTLA on October 4, 2026. No permission for further redistribution is implied. The livery follows an older port-side photograph; opposite-side and hidden details are inferred, and current paint is unverified. Aircraft marks identify the aircraft and do not imply endorsement.

Bell 407 liveries

Twenty Bell 407 liveries (N528AM, N407PJ, N407TJ, N286G, N447GH, N700WH, N407TF, N403AP, N694AM, N707AH, N477KA, N861MT, N427MT, N645AM, N224AM, N160AM, N229AM, N445SL, N50Q and N93DD) are built on a Bell 407 model credited to NoManland, FSX and AuthorSaulAlan. Its base geometry and original textures are theirs. GTLA created the paint, lettering and animation, and N407TF’s cargo pods. The site owner confirmed separate permission to use this source on GTLA on September 12, 2026. No permission for further redistribution is implied. Operator, station, manufacturer and other brand names, logos and emblems on these liveries belong to their owners; they identify the aircraft shown and do not imply endorsement.

One model with a closed licence

The UH-1 Huey family — 16 aircraft — is built on a model by helijah / Emmanuel licensed under the Sketchfab Standard License, which is not a Creative Commons licence and does not grant redistribution. We credit the author here and in every file, and we claim no ownership of that base geometry.

N155DB (Bell 412EP) uses helijah / Emmanuel's Huey source mesh with GTLA exterior, livery and animation adaptations. The site owner confirmed separate source-owner publication permission for N155DB on October 21, 2026. N819GL uses Chris Kuhn / KUHN0362's CC0 Robinson R22, with the Cycles adaptation by lstewart.3d. Its blue-and-black paint is an approved family-reference interpretation based on N80156; N819GL's actual paint is unverified.

N612TA and N212AH (Bell 212) also use the helijah / Emmanuel Huey mesh. Separate source-owner permission for publication on GTLA was confirmed on October 13, 2026. The paint and Bell 212 adaptation are by GTLA; the base geometry remains credited to its author.

N433AK (A109E) also uses the FlightGear Brasil AW109 by KAITO and Renan, with GTLA paint and geometry adaptations under GPL v3. Download N433AK corresponding source.

N619GE and N145SJ use CloudHubOmniTeam's Airbus EC145 mesh under CC BY 4.0. GTLA adapted the exterior, variant rotors, closed doors, paint and animation. No endorsement is implied. N817CE and N28LB use the approved GTLA AS350 family geometry and reconstructed aircraft paint.

N406YC's H145 D-3 model adapts CloudHubOmniTeam's Airbus EC145 mesh. GTLA rebuilt the five-blade rotor, mast, controls and landing gear, calibrated the dimensions, and added animation and original event-scheme artwork. The source and the complete GTLA adaptation, including artwork, are available under CC BY 4.0. No endorsement is implied. This is a dated F.A.T. event scheme based on Fynn Maass's photograph in an Autoweek gallery published March 3, 2026; the exact capture date and current paint are unverified, and the unseen side is interpreted. No photograph is embedded in the model. Read the model credit and limitations.

October 19 fleet additions

N121NC adapts the FlightGear / FGUK S-76C by Melchior Franz, Maik Justus, Horacio Contreras and contributors. N133EH adapts the FlightGear BO105 by Melchior Franz and contributors. Both complete GTLA adaptations, including paint, geometry changes and animation, are distributed under GPL v2, without warranty. Editable geometry, artwork and reproduction scripts are available in the N121NC source archive and the N133EH source archive.

N39049, N5743H and N844AD use zenox3d's Bell 206 geometry; their complete GTLA adaptations are available under CC BY-SA 3.0. N5743H depicts documented historical paint. N844AD uses a labeled Ocean Air fleet-reference paint interpretation; its current exact-aircraft paint and equipment are unverified. N78UT uses agreene@davidre's Bell 429 geometry under CC BY 4.0, with GTLA paint and gear adaptations.

N205CE uses helijah / Emmanuel Baranger's Huey geometry. N9276F uses Simhopp's MD500 geometry, published under CC BY-NC 4.0. N407GH, N41HX and N829DP use the Bell 407 source credited to NoManland / FSX / AuthorSaulAlan. Separate source-owner permission to publish all five on GTLA was confirmed by the GTLA owner on October 19, 2026. N829DP uses the documented historical N63MJ paint on the same serial airframe with its later registration. GTLA reconstructed liveries and added flight animation. Aircraft names and logos identify the depicted aircraft; no endorsement is implied.

Please don’t take the model files

The .glb files this site loads are here to draw the map. Republishing, redistributing, or reusing them as standalone 3D assets is not permitted — not by us, and in several cases not by the licences above either. The generic silhouettes are the exception: they are Creative Commons and free for anyone to reuse under their own terms, with credit to their creators. So are the fourteen Bell 206 liveries, for the share-alike reason above. N406YC's dated 2026 event model, including its GTLA adaptation and artwork, is also available under CC BY 4.0 with attribution. The eight S-76 liveries, the BO105, the seven V-22 Ospreys, the Gazelles (N888GZ, N342MR and the shared unmarked Gazelle), the two Marine Corps CH-53Es (162479 and 164780), the Sheriff’s Super Puma (N951LB), Coulson’s S-61N (N261CG), the S-58ET (N58AH) and the Bell 230 (N230H) are also available under GPL v2; the four Maverick EC130 B4s (N850MH, N851MH, N852MH, N853MH) under GPL v2 or any later version; and the A109E (N435AK) and A119 (N119WG) under GPL v3 — with source in the downloads above.

Everything else

Map imagery, terrain and 3D buildings carry their own credits on the map itself: a small row on the map shows Google’s logo and its data line, and the ⓘ button at the end of that row opens the full list. Aircraft positions come from ADS-B and Mode S data via public aggregators: adsb.fi, adsb.lol, airplanes.live and The OpenSky Network. Wildfire information is per Watch Duty. Ground heights over San Diego County come from the U.S. Geological Survey’s 3D Elevation Program (public domain), via the Terrain Tiles open dataset on AWS.
