N39CL — live tracking every few seconds while it is in the air, and who this aircraft is the rest of the time.
N39CL is the third Bell 407 in the Helicopters Inc. pool. It leads as SkyCAL for KCAL 9 and also flies as SkyFOX 11 for KTTV Fox 11. Its two sides are painted for different stations — KCAL's markings on one flank, KTTV's SkyFOX on the other — so the name on screen depends on which station is airing the shot, not on which helicopter is up.
We have recorded SkyCAL / SkyFOX 11 over 240 neighborhoods across Southern California, 3788 passes in all — most recently over Lake Balboa on 12 October.
Counted from this site's own observations of the public ADS-B feed, not from a flight plan — a pass is a visit we watched, and the list is what we have seen, not everywhere this aircraft has been.
Our record ties SkyCAL / SkyFOX 11 to 37 scenes, the 8 most recent below.
This record starts on 10 August and only includes scenes GTLA opened a page for — most of them opened automatically, when our tracking saw helicopters gather over one spot or follow a chase — so it is not a complete history of where this aircraft has flown.
